Elke Ielegems

Elke Ielegems is a Belgian architect and doctoral student in the domain of Universal Design at Hasselt University. Out of the need for better guiding architects who aim to design more inclusively, she focuses on different aspects that may help architects to stimulate communication about a diversity of users throughout design processes. Her expertise as practicing architect helps to develop an efficient and effective inclusive design methodology in a practical point of view. Consequently, this PhD research may contribute to a more inclusive built environment, usable, understandable and comfortable for as many people as possible.
